omo mi
‘Omo mi’, meaning my child, explores the delicate and life-changing experience of being a new mother. After relocating to the UK, I struggled to find my feet and fit into the new place. Being by myself resulted in loneliness, weight loss, and declining mental health. Due to this, I was unable to have a child. But just before I began treatment for these issues, I received the most wonderful news that I was with a child. Then I started documenting my pregnancy journey and motherhood, and I was so happy and promised to celebrate my daughter every day. I have now dedicated this project to my precious child. This project aims to continue documenting the story of a mother and her child and include the women/mothers in my family history.
